Temporary Fencing: Site Security and Safety You Can Rely On
Effective site security and perimeter control are non-negotiable on any construction, civil engineering, or public event site. Temporary fencing provides the robust, flexible boundary solution that keeps unauthorised personnel out, protects the public from site hazards, and helps contractors meet their legal duty of care obligations, all without the cost, time, or permanence of fixed boundary installations.
The most widely used temporary fencing system is the modular steel panel fence. Individual panels are typically around 3.5 metres wide and 2 metres tall and slot together using steel couplings and are stabilised by heavy rubber or concrete feet that hold the fence upright without any ground fixing. This free-standing design means panels can be erected quickly by a small team, reconfigured as site requirements change, and struck just as efficiently at the end of the project.
Security levels can be easily upgraded within the same system. Standard mesh panels provide clear demarcation and a visible deterrent, while anti-climb variants use a tighter mesh pattern that eliminates footholds, making them the preferred choice for higher-risk locations or sites close to schools and residential areas. Privacy screening fitted to standard panels blocks sightlines into the site, reducing the risk of opportunistic theft and meeting planning or neighbourly obligations where required.
For comprehensive site security, temporary fencing works best alongside lighting towers to illuminate the perimeter during unattended hours, and our additional services range which includes a full suite of site security solutions. Where generator power is required to run security lighting or monitoring equipment, we can supply this alongside your fencing hire.
Our temporary fencing range covers standard mesh, anti-climb, and hoarding solutions to suit construction sites, public events, and utility works of every scale.
