Heavy Lifts & Roto Telehandlers

Heavy Lifts & Roto Telehandlers: Precision and Power for the Most Demanding Lifts
When a project demands lifting capacity, reach, and rotational flexibility that standard plant simply cannot deliver, heavy lift equipment and rotating telehandlers step in to fill the gap. Whether placing structural steelwork on a complex building frame, installing heavy mechanical plant at height, or manoeuvring large prefabricated components into precise positions on a congested site, these specialised machines combine the raw lifting power of a crane with the ground mobility and attachment versatility of a telehandler — creating a uniquely capable solution for the most demanding lifting and placing operations.

Heavy lift telehandlers represent the upper end of the telehandler capacity range, with rated lift capacities extending well beyond the standard market offering — some models capable of lifting in excess of 6 tonnes to heights of 30 metres or more. This combination of high capacity and extended reach makes them particularly valuable on large construction, infrastructure, and energy sector projects where loads are substantial, working heights are significant, and the cost and complexity of mobilising a crane is difficult to justify for a relatively short lifting programme.

Rotating telehandlers — commonly referred to as roto telehandlers — take versatility a significant step further. Unlike conventional telehandlers, which are limited to working within a fixed forward arc, roto models feature a full 360-degree rotating superstructure that allows the boom to swing freely around the machine without repositioning. This crane-like rotational capability transforms what the machine can achieve on a congested site, allowing operators to pick from one side and place on the other, work in tight corners without repositioning, and maintain a small ground footprint while covering a wide working radius.

The attachment compatibility of roto telehandlers broadens their application further still. Forks, winch hooks, personnel baskets, concrete skips, grapples, and lifting jibs can all be deployed from the same machine, making a single roto telehandler capable of replacing multiple pieces of specialist equipment across the course of a project — reducing both hire costs and the logistical complexity of managing a larger plant fleet on site.

Outrigger systems provide the stability platform needed for safe operation at maximum reach and capacity, automatically levelling the machine on uneven ground and extending the working envelope significantly beyond what is achievable on wheels alone.

Our heavy lift and roto telehandler range covers leading manufacturers across a broad spread of capacities, reach heights, and configurations to suit the most demanding project requirements.
